Growth Spurt?!!
Alex fell asleep twice while playing yesterday. This photo was take in the morning before he went to daycare. In the evening, both Alex and John fell asleep on Alex's bedroom floor while playing.
Alex has been sleeping a lot lately. The first thing that comes to my mind: growth spurt!?

Remember the Alamo!
Alex made his first trip to the Alamo today. He enjoyed looking around, especially at the rustic walls and large chandeliers. My aunt was in town for a conference, so it was great to spend some time with her.

Alex's First Video
I took this with our digital camera when I was trying to get a good shot of Alex putting his foot in his mouth. The video was taken on September 7, 2009.
Teething
Alex has been a little cranky this weekend for good reason. Two teeth have cut through on the bottom in the center.

Rolling
Alex rolled across the floor yesterday at daycare. He went from the playmat to the carpet to the tile. He was not happy with how cold the tile was. We tried for a repeat performance at home last night, but he was too tired. Maybe he will show off his new skills this weekend.

Peas Interrupted
Alex threw up some of his peas yesterday! He was so excited about them that we gave him too much. This is what John and I call experimental parenting. As the first-born, he gets parents who are "newbies." He is doing much better today, but we are holding off on the peas for now...

Six Months
Alex is now six months old, and had his check-up today. He is 17 pounds and 15 ounces. (I had guessed 18 pounds, so I was close.) He is 28 inches long and has about one more inch to go before he outgrows his infant car seat. He weight is between the 50th and 75th percentile, but his length is between the 90-95th percentile. We may have a tall one! He is healthy and happy. He also gets to start vegetables.
Daily Reports
We receive a daily report from daycare. Most are pretty standard, but yesterday's was a little different, "left leg caught in crib during nap. Area red. Removed with soap & water." Alex getting harder to contain.
Last week at daycare (August 25), Alex got to paint for the first time. Alexander "Picasso" is in his blue period and made his first masterpiece with his feet and blue paint. His teacher had to explain why he still had a little blue paint around his toes when I came to pick him up. He had so much fun, that he fell asleep in the car around 5:30 PM and did not wake up until 11:30 PM. (Alex is now going to bed between 7:30-8 PM most nights and will usually sleep until 4:30 or 5:30 AM.)
