It's a small world...

in Englewood, Ohio. We went to a local restaurant for dinner, and I used to babysit our waitress when I was in high school.

It is so nice to be on vacation. Today I had no plans! There was nothing that I needed to accomplish today, which was great.

Yesterday we saw friends and family at a cookout, which was really nice. My second oldest friend drove a couple hours to visit and brought her girls. It was so great to see them. I've been friends with her for around 20 years and my oldest friend for 25. How cool is that? (OK, it does also make me feel a little old!)

P.S. Everything here is so green! I should not be so surprised by this since I spent 25 years of my life in Ohio.

CPK Layout

I have discovered various photos of me clutching my first Cabbage Patch Kid, so it was time for a scrapbook page.

I have hit a new level of scrapbook addition. I packed scrapbook supplies for a trip.

I watched the Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy season finales on the DVR. Good stuff. I love fast forwarding through commercials.

Visiting Dayton

later this month for Shawn and Heather's wedding. I am looking forward to the trip! I'll be emailing people with dates and details. Happy May!

Plans

I read this on a blog today:
"Q: What was ONCE important to you but is not now?
A: Long term plans.
I used to have the next twenty years on my life mapped out in my mind. I guess that as life has changed I've learned that these plans really aren't as helpful as I once thought. Now I am just enjoying one thing at a time. I still have goals, but not as many plans... :) "

I can relate to her answer about long term plans. My life is different from what I had planned about ten years ago. The best things in my life are the things that I did not really plan. I am learning how we just cannot control certain things in our lives and working on "enjoying one thing at a time."
